About Tiki
Tiki is an amazing on-line publishing system which allows anyone to quickly and easily manage their own web pages, start up a multilingual community site, share pictures or video files with friends, write and publish documentation for a project, publish articles on a web-zine, create a great company presentation or just start a small personal blog and publish their daily blog posts in it.
The application is a free software being constantly developed and released regularly as a part of the TikiWiki CMS/Groupware project.
There's this "All-In-One" and "Out-Of-The-Box" idea where many features integrate into one package. Basically it's based on a quick and simple ability to edit the content while maintaining its history of changes where user has the option to choose and roll back any modifications to any version at any point at any time. Doing the motions "The Wiki* Way" and the philosophy to "Run Anything" does pre-destinate this open and freely distributable system for countless amount of possibilities how to effectively build on it and use it. Amongst the other uses Tiki also does have a very sophisticated access control system with advanced groups and users administration so it can be easily adopted for any internal needs (Groupware, Bug Tracker, Documentation) in a corporate environment as a part of a proprietary system (company Intranet) accessible only to allowed and permitted users.
Since the 2002 thanks to great support, permanent development and enhancements contributed by large TikiWiki project community of people from all over the world, Tiki is one of the best equipped Open Source solutions which you can count on it and don't worry to begin build on it virtually any application accessible via a common web browser which you can imagine...

- note: wiki comes from a Hawaiian word which means "quick" and it became common word to distinguish those publishing systems, where more than one user is allowed to make changes and corrections of documents published on the internet and revise their changes - the best known example nowadays is Wikipedia
